Diaclase 2014: 91 pts

Brilliant ruby. Oak-spiced blue fruit and floral pastille scents carry a smoky mineral overtone. Juicy and light on its feet, offering sweet boysenberry and cherry flavors that fresh out and become deeper with air. Vanilla and spicecake notes linger on a very long, pliant finish, which features fine-grained tannins and a hint of violet. Give this suave wine a little time to absorb its well-judged lumber component.”

Sous La Croix 2015: 90 pts

Bright violet. A highly perfumed nose evokes fresh blue fruits, floral pastilles and vanilla, and a smoky mineral nuance emerges slowly. Juicy and expansive on the palate, offering sappy blueberry and bitter cherry flavors that become deeper and sweeter with air. Rich yet lively, with solid closing thrust and velvety tannins coming in late to add gentle grip to the vanilla-tinged finish.”
